Joseph

The short story that ignited my entire research journey into refugee situations, Joseph is a fictional representative of real-life stories I gathered from interviews from refugee camps. This piece, published by the Harvard Summer Review (2017), follows an asylum seeker through a transitional camp as he faces the Greek heat, sparse resources, and accusations against his identity. Trellis

Stationed 6,000 meters under the sea, Gia Hamiltoni lives in the Trellis facility with no way in or out. Where no sunlight shines, Gia stares at surveillance screens to keep the Trellis community safe. But when a girl disappears from the security footage, Gia’s search leads her into dangerous waters. Searching for truth, Gia uncovers a tangle of deception around an ancient submarine, called Alaster, and what its existence could mean for the Trellis community.
