How Do People Learn?
That’s a core question I ask when designing. I discover how learners interact with and retain information. From science-based learning theories to explorations of new approaches, my core belief is to start with how learners learn.
Pedagogical Awareness
1. Articulate Core Objectives
New tech and fun activities are great, but the best educational content is made by first articulating what learners should take away from the learning experience. Before anything else, great design starts with intentional goals.
2. Identify Success
Should learners gain a particular knowledge? Should they take away certain abilities? How do we know if learners have taken away what we want from the program? The answer to these questions makes a foundation for what identifies the success of the educational program.
3. Intentional Assessment
An ‘assement’ doesn’t have to be a standardized test. If an identifier of success is engagement with a program, ‘learner participation’ may be the best way to assess the program. The key with assessment is to ensure it is a good measure of the core goals of the program.
4. Keep Creating
There’s always feedback to take in and ways to keep building. Learner-centered design shouldn’t be stagnant, but always growing and improving.

Harvard University
I collaborated on projects to develop impactful documents, presentations, and resources for diverse academic and non-academic stakeholders. I edited module-based curriculum content and delivered cohesive educational materials. I supported team communication and project management in departments to confirm collaboration between professors, staff, and students.
Key accomplishments are:
• Conducted in-depth research on educational practices and collaborated with five software companies to develop comprehensive solutions for Harvard’s blended educational courses.
• Contributed to creating 15 educational resources, empowering Harvard professors with valuable teaching materials.
• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing over 20 software applications and expertise in three different LMSs.
• Actively collaborated with SMEs to produce and refine online curriculum content for Canvas.
• Enhanced curriculum content through skilled editing, utilizing visual builders, G Suite, and HTML to ensure a visually appealing and engaging learning experience.
Listenwise
I collaborated on a team to create content for a Boston-based edtech company. Here, I helped design a three-part case study for Listenwise, crafting a dynamic and immersive learning journey that effectively engages learners and fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
HarvardX
Harvard University offers free online classes through edX. With HarvardX, I contributed to the enhancement of educational offerings by editing two full-length online courses.
University of the Nations
With the UofN, I designed captivating graphics, videos, and knowledgeable lectures to enhance student engagement in the Ancient Near-East historical background. I mentored adult learners and graded assignments with the aim of offering valuable guidance to facilitate academic and spiritual growth. On top of these duties as an academic staff, I also:
- Gathered feedback from stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in academic quality, whilst ensuring alignment with evolving educational needs and expectations.
- Utilized G-suite to schedule and develop content, streamlining processes and enhancing productivity for the academic staff and students.
- Created learner-centered content specifically tailored for LMS, optimising the educational experience for students.
- Developed assignments and assessments for over 60 modules, fostering structured and comprehensive learning.
- Delivered engaging lectures on the Ancient Near-East historical background related to the Bible.
- Organized lectures with over 50 SMEs to create valuable learning opportunities for students by incorporating real-world insights and expertise into the curriculum.
